Stephen Jen Quoted in Bloomberg: “Dollar Exodus to Unleash $2.5 Trillion FX Avalanche, Jen Says”

In a recent Bloomberg article, the risk of a significant outflow from U.S. dollar assets is discussed, drawing from a recent Eurizon SLJ Capital research note. The piece examines how geopolitical shifts and currency dynamics could lead to substantial dollar selling, particularly from Asian exporters and institutional investors.

Stephen Jen, CEO of Eurizon SLJ Capital, highlights the scale of potential dollar reserves at risk:

"We suspect these dollar hoardings by Asian exporters and institutional investors may be extremely large – possibly on the order of US$2.5 trillion or so – and pose sharp downside risks to the dollar vis-à-vis these Asian currencies."

The analysis, originally published in the Eurizon SLJ Capital research note titled "Another Avalanche Warning on the Asian Currencies" (May 6, 2025), discusses how a realignment of reserves could challenge the dollar’s dominant position.
