2023 Outlook: Emerging Markets
After a complex year for the global macro economy and markets, it’s time to think about 2023. This time last year, while contemplating the outlook for 2022, could we have foreseen the main events over the last twelve months?
Maybe rising US inflation and Fed tightening were expected at the time, but not Ukraine or Beijing’s policy choices - doubling down on what they had done last summer.
Our focus in looking into 2023 is to highlight some key themes rather than precise growth forecasts to the first decimal point and to be open to surprises.
So it is my pleasure to share a few key views, from Alan Wilson and our Emerging Market Strategies Team, as we enter 2023.
